I had bought of bag of fresh cranberries from the store a week ago planning on making my own dehydrated cranberries but ended up never having time but that worked in my favor because I was able to make homemade cranberry sauce! I know people have their preferences and some are very strong towards canned cranberries but I’ve always preferred the fresh stuff. Plus my mom loves homemade cranberry sauce so I thought that I could make it special for her. Growing up I definitely sauce cranberries as in the same category as veggies but now that I’ve actually forced myself to try new foods I love them! This recipe is very easy and takes no time at all.
—Ingredients—
2 cups of fresh cranberries
1/2 cup monkfruit sugar
Zest of a whole orange
1/2 cup of orange juice
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon of salt
— Instructions—
Combine all ingredients into a pot on medium high heat and bring to a boil. Once boiling lower heat to medium low and let simmer for 8-9 minutes. After that has gone by get a potato smasher and smash the cranberries. If you like chunkier cranberry sauce then don’t smash as much. Let chill in the fridge for 2-3 hours or overnight and then serve!
